How to get here
Shuttle BusA shuttle bus pick up service can be arranged for our guests, you can simply give us a call when you arrive at the airport and have your luggage collected. We will ask you to go to the meeting point according to the point of arrival and meet the shuttle bus representative. You will be guided to the shuttle bus for pick up and then it will drop you off at our doorsteps. The travelling time is approximately 30 – 60 minutes depending on the traffic and the timing for the shuttle bus operation is from 5 am to 7 pm.
TrainTo take a train, you have to go to the train services within the airport and get off at Town Hall station and we are just 30 metres from the station entrance. Once you take the exit through exit no.3, Pavilion Plaza on George Street, you will find us in the lane way next to Star Bar which is opposite to the Event Cinemas. The travelling time on the train is 15-20 minutes and the train services are available every 15 minutes.
CabIf you are taking a cab, you have to tell the driver our address and the cab will bring you here. The travelling time is approximately 30 Minutes.
Sydney Backpackers Hostel Pick UpSydney Backpackers guests are entitled to receive a FREE airport pick up as part of the service if they are staying in the hostel for more than 3 nights regardless of which room type that they booked with.
However there are a few conditions that need to be followed to deserve this free service. Otherwise there will be a pickup charge of $15.00 per person for us to arrange the shuttle bus each way from/to the airport. The shuttle company we work with is called ‘Airport Connect‘ and they are known as ‘Airbus‘.
Here are the conditions of the airport pickup:
You must book to stay with us for a minimum of 3 nights or more and free pickup cannot be combined with any other free promotions that we offer.
- Bookings received through any third party online booking channels are not entitled to receive this service for free.
Pickup service is available between 5am and 7pm (outside these hours, you must make your way to the hostel on your own - there are other public transport available such as other shuttle bus, taxi and the train services)
Once you are arrived at the airport and have your luggage collected, you need to call us to let us know that you are arrived, then we would be able to guide you to the designated metting point of each terminal depending on where you are arrived.
To phone, You can directly call us from the “Accommodation Services Boards” that are located in every terminal of the airport – simply find our tile and dial our number to get connected to the hostel for free. Alternatively you can find a pay phone to call our toll free number on 1800 88 77 66.
International: The meeting point is located between two arrival exits within the terminal building and easily seen on a blue wall.
Domestic: A shuttle pick up zone is located between Terminal 2 & 3.
Due to strict rules enforced by the airport control, shuttle drivers are not allowed to leave their bus behind and escort people from terminal. So it is important that you go to the right place and meet the designated representative on a yellow shirts (‘Airporter’ written on the back) that Sydney Backpackers work with. Then you will be guided through to the shuttle bus driver for pickup. For your information, there might be a temptation from other private shuttle drivers trying to take you in, but this will end up costing you more and whatever the money you paid to the driver cannot be compensated from the hostel. Please always remember not to pay any money to the driver as the ticket will be collected from our hostel recepton.
