Traveling Tips for Newbie and Aspiring Travelers

What comes to mind when you hear the word “Traveling”?

Many people dream on travelling around the world; we call them aspiring travelers. Unfortunately not all people can travel, because of several different reasons. Maybe because of their busy schedules, financial problems or a fear of leaving home. But if you really want to travel, there are many different ways to make it happen. For example, some travel agencies offer discounts during peak seasons. This lets you grab the chance to travel at a discounted price.

Some people are already into traveling, which means they have already traveled more than once. People like this tend to know what to do when they travel. While traveling there will always be different experiences along the way, good as well as not so good. But whatever the circumstances are, experience is always good to have. But what if you are a first-timer or a beginner to traveling?

Here are some tips for a newbie or for the aspiring travelers:

Prepare Necessary Papers for Traveling

If you are going to leave the country, there will always be some requirements for doing so. Your government will not allow you to go out of the country unless you are authorized. The reason behind this validation is mainly for security purpose. Some criminals may try to flee the country after committing a crime, which obviously must not be allowed to happen.

In order for you to travel to another country, you need to have a visa. So what are the requirements for this? Here are the usual items or papers you need to prepare:

-Birth certificate (Be sure it is verified)

-Marriage certificate

-Latest Income Tax Return

-For business owners, include business permits, business license and (audited) financial statements

-Photocopies of previous visas you have been issued

-ID photos: Some embassies may have different requirements for the size of pictures. You can prepare different sizes for your photographs with white background. But the standard size is 2 x 2 inches.

-Proof of income and ownership such as land titles and or car registration documents

You can always compile these papers for future use. A clear book or folder is recommended for compiling papers.

Be Adventurous

If you are an aspiring traveler it is important to have an adventurous spirit. Being adventurous can be a huge plus for you when you are traveling. When traveling, you won’t only travel from one place to another, it’s possible you will face an adventure and will gain experience from it.

If you’re not adventurous, it’s likely you won’t enjoy traveling to different places. Most avid travelers though would not go far from home just to sit or sleep in new hotels. They usually say that life is short, and they want to get the most out of their life.

Plan what to put in your Luggage

Many travelers put too much in their luggage. Some experienced travelers recommend packing lightly and trying to plan ahead when it comes to packing. Take along what you think will help you the most.

Don’t forget to put your necessities in your luggage. These are things you need for hygiene and daily use. You might want to include your personal items such as toothbrush, towels, medications, etc.

Prepare some Medicine

When traveling, medicine is always a good thing to pack. With any traveling, accident, fever or illness is inevitable. This can be caused by different circumstances; it can be because of a change in climate, new or different foods or many other reasons.

Just for safety reasons it is important to always prepare a first aid kit and your medicine for your travel. Remember that preparing is better than avoidance.

Clothing for the Country you will be going

Every country has its own clothing style and traditions. It’s important to research the clothing worn in the country you will be visiting. Doing this can save you embarrassment, and dressing according to the temperature and climate will make your travel more comfortable. The way you dress can also signal others that you are a tourist.

Don’t Trust Strangers, Especially in Airport

This is one of the most important things to remember when traveling. There are frequently dishonest people loitering in airports. They are often involved in illegal activities such as money laundering, possession of illegal weapons, drug trafficking and many more.

They tend to conceal these illegal activities behind normal occurrences; as a disguise or mirage. For example, drugs may be hidden drugs in bottled water. It’s crucial to be aware of your surroundings and don’t accept any offer from a stranger. You might get in trouble without even knowing about it.
